Internships:  Individual departments, as well as the Career and Professional Planning office will assist in matching qualified students with businesses for internships throughout the year. Some internships are paid, others are not or students received stipends. Most students can receive college credit for their internship experience. Successful Graduates: University of Idaho graduates include famous inventors, politicians, scholars, entrepreneurs, scientists, athletes and educators who are leaders in their communities.  The Career and Professional Planning office also provides employers with the Vandal Career Connection to learn more about alumni and their level of preparedness to enter into the competitive workplace.  

Vibrant Campus Experience

Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival: Lionel Hampton was among the many remarkable jazz musicians who made the festival a second home, of sorts. His love affair with education, jazz and Moscow started in 1984 and he helped fine-tune the annual gathering into a now internationally acclaimed four-day jazz festival named in his honor, the Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival. 2008 marks the centennial of Hampton’s birth.

Borah Symposium: The mission of the Borah Foundation is to continue the work of Senator Borah by sponsoring a variety of educational programs and projects which focus on understanding and removing the causes of war, and understanding and implementing the conditions that contribute to world peace. The Borah Symposium is held annual in the spring and is co-sponsored by the Martin Institute featuring  four days of exceptional speakers and activities.

University of Idaho Golf Course:  The University of Idaho golf course is a very challenging par 72.  It was originally designed by Francis L. James, and constructed in 1933 as a nine hole golf course.  In 1968, the course was redesigned by Bob Bolduck and nine additional holes were added.

Idaho Repertory Theatre: In residence at the University of Idaho, the Idaho Repertory Theatre is the longest running professional repertory theatre in the Inland Northwest. They have been entertaining the Palouse for the past 55 years.
